Senior Advisory Board Minutes
Wednesday April 12th 11:30 am
In Person meeting 1200 Raintree Drive
Fort Collins Senior Center
Mission: The Senior Advisory Board shall serve in an advisory capacity to the Fort Collins City Council
on programs and policies that help aging citizens live full and interesting lives and continue to
contribute, participate, and share in the life of the community.
I. Call to Order: 11:31am
II. Public Participation
Suzanne King, Joe Glomboski
III. Administrative Items
a. Attendance:
Myles Crane, Alicia Durand, David Kovach, Alan Kress, Deanna O’Connell, Mary Roberts
Excused: Bruce Henderson, Gabby Rivera
Staff members: Sarah Olear, Lisa Hays.
b. Approval of January minutes Motion: Alicia Durand. Second Alan Kress. Unanimously approved.
c. Correspondence – None
d. Six Month Calendar Update – Sarah will keep updated monthly.
IV. Discussion of the board’s goals and objectives
Key thoughts:
Consider changing the mission statement to reflect the goals.
Conduct community meetings to bring in opinions from seniors in the community.
Campaign to let the public know who we are and what we do. Connection with the City
Council.
Tabling questions
Coffee sit downs
Senior Facility visits
o Small survey handout where they can respond via website.
Make meetings accessible via Zoom or another avenue.
Focus on some smaller items that where we feel we can have an immediate impact.
Possibly advertise on bus stop benches
Look at what other City of Fort Collins boards are addressing.
Continue to have guest speakers.
Provide opportunity for one board member each month to speak on a topic of their choosing.

Create a sign-up sheet for board members to commit to going out and speaking on the board’s
behalf.
