GENERAL EMPLOYEES’ RETIREMENT COMMITTEE
2023 Work Plan
Regular meetings of the General Employees’ Retirement Committee (GERC) are
scheduled for the second Thursday of every month and are held via Zoom or at 215
North Mason in conference room 2A beginning at 11:00 am.
The 2023 GERC meeting schedule is:
January 12 April 13 July 13 October 12
February 9 May 11 August 10 November 9
March 9 June 8 September 14 December 14
2023 GERC Work Plan
Prepare 2022 GERC Annual Report for City Council prior to January 31, 2023.
Fiduciary training for all Committee members.
Elect Officers and Review GERC standing rules in February 2023.
Consider modifying practices, policies, plan document, etc. as advised in fiduciary training.
Continue Monitoring of Retirement Plan and the appropriate level of contributions.
Revise actuarial assumptions prior to March 1, if necessary, for the 2022 Report.
Review ‘Personal Retirement Planning Statement’ forms in April 2023.
Review Quarterly and Monthly Investment Reports.
Review legislative issues with actuarial consultant and support staff.
Prepare Work Plan for 2024 by September 30, 2023.
Provide and enhance the educational opportunities for GERP members and GERC Board
members, as appropriate.
The web site for the General Employees’ Retirement Committee will be monitored,
updated as needed, and the minutes will be posted once they have been approved and
signed.
