AIR QUALITY ADVISORY BOARD RECOMMENDATION TO CITY COUNCIL

SUBJECT: Environmental Health Budget
Dear Mayor and members of City Council:
The Air Quality Advisory Board considered the City Manager’s proposed budget at its 21
September meeting. In our review, we were particularly eager to see whether the budget fully
implements the Climate Action Plan.
In the Environmental Health budget are three unfunded enhancements of the Climate Wise
Program that are all needed to meet City Council’s policy goals in the Climate Action Plan. We
urge that they be funded. We further urge the Council to consider shifting the necessary funds
into the Environmental Health budget in order to meet these important goals.
