HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION
Special Meeting – Online
November 29, 2022, 5:30‐6:30pm
CALL TO ORDER
● The meeting was called to order at 5:31 pm by Chair Beth Jaeger.

HUMAN RELATIONS AWARDS – DECEMBER 6TH - PREPARATION
● Day-of details reviewed:
o 100+ people planning to attend
o 3:45 – Reception begins
o 4:00 – Start moving into Council Chambers
o 4:10 – Program begins
o 5:00 – Move out of Council Chambers
● Practice Program Flow
● Requests for Melanie:
o Need a table for paintings, podium, and microphone
o Can we block off seats at the front for recipients?
o Interpretation – both Spanish and ASL
2023 HRC WORK PLAN
● Work Plan reviewed
● Masood made a motion to approve. Phil seconded. Passed 8-0.
CITY CODE CHANGE – DRAFTED LETTER
● Letter drafted to City Council in regard to the City Code, asking for a change in
the City’s anti-discrimination language.
● Coronda made a motion to approve the HRC letter. Barb seconded. Passed 8-0.
Beth will forward the final HRC letter to the Mayor and City Council.
ADJOURNMENT
● Masood made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Coronda. It passed
8-0 and Beth closed the meeting at 6:30pm.
