BUSINESS, PRESENTATION, OR DISCUSSION:
A) APP PROCESS DISCUSSION
Claudia Menendez the City’s Chief Equity Officer, led the discussion on incorporating
the themes of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the Art in Public Places processes.
She shared a presentation showing how these values fit int the City’s recently
updated Mission, Vision and Values, and are a Strategic Objective under the City’s
key outcome area Neighborhood Livability and Social Health. Claudia and the board
discussed validating emotions, unconscious bias, the Cycle of Continuous
Improvement as a framework for improvements, and the 2022 Pianos About Town
mural by artist Tif Choate as a learning opportunity. This presentation will be shared
with APP Board members and this discussion will continue in upcoming meet ings.
5. OTHER BUISNESS
Ms. Martin asked the Board if they want to move the regular December meeting to
December 14. An email regarding availability will be sent to the Board.
