HomeMy WebLinkAboutSenior Advisory Board - Minutes - 09/14/2022 1 City of Fort Collins Senior Advisory Board Minutes Wednesday September14, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. In-Person Meeting 1200 Raintree Drive Fort Collins Senior Center Mission: The Senior Advisory Board shall serve in an advisory capacity to the Fort Collins City Council on programs and policies that help aging citizens live full and interesting lives and continue to contribute, participate, and share in the life of the community. I. Call to Order: a. 11:35 am II. Public Participation a. Suzanne King III. Administrative Items a. Attendance: City Councilmember Susan Gutowski, Myles Crane, David Kovach, , Deanna O’Connell, Nancy Luttropp, Alan Kress, Jeanne Hoag, Mary Roberts, Staff members Sarah Olear, Lisa Hays. Excused: Alicia Durand  b. Approval of July Minutes: Motion: Alan Kress; Seconded: Nancy Luttropp. All approved. c. Correspondence: i. Applications for new board and commissions are coming in, Interviews to begin soon. ii. Alan Kress has been accepted to the Larimer County Office on Aging Advisory Council. d. Six Month Calendar Update: None IV. Guest Speakers: a. Selina Lujan de Albers – Environmental Services Department i. Manages indoor air quality for the department ii. Presentation on preparation for future wildfire events. How to best control the air quality within the home during these events. iii. Sites available for more information: fire.airnow.gov nocoalert.org Colorado.gov/airquality/request_alerts_aspx b. Rachel Ruhlen, FC Moves – Vision Zero Action Plan i. Presentation on the Vision Zero Action Plan targeting traffic safety from a variety of avenues, with the overall goal of having zero traffic deaths or serious injuries in Fort Collins. ii. Discussion on thoughts for traffic safety in and around Fort Collins. V. New Business a. 2023 SAB Work Plan Discussion – Motion to approve Work Plan as written was made by Dave and seconded by Alan. Unanimously approved. b. Support of the Walkability Study – Motion to support the walk study with a memo to city council was make by Dave and seconded by Mary. Unanimously approved. VI. Ongoing Initiatives a. FC SAB has accepted an invitation to attend the Loveland SAB meeting on Wednesday October 5th, time and location TBA. Sarah will work to provide a SC van for transportation. b. Dave met with Senator Ginal and discussed using seniors are facing with landlords. c. Transportation Dave – none 2 d. Safety and Wellness Deanna - none e. Affordable Housing Board - Mary no report f. PAFC Housing Priority Group – Alan/Nancy no report  g. Senior Center Updates – Jeanne – starting to see more people coming back although we are still dealing with staffing shortages.
