Senior Advisory Board Minutes
Wednesday August 10, 2022 at 11:30 a.m.
In-Person Meeting 1200 Raintree Drive
Fort Collins Senior Center
Mission: The Senior Advisory Board shall serve in an advisory capacity to the Fort Collins City Council
on programs and policies that help aging citizens live full and interesting lives and continue to
contribute, participate, and share in the life of the community.
I. Call to Order:
a. 11:35 am
II. Public Participation
a. Gabby Rivera
b. Update from Courtney Geary, FC Moves – there is now a link and QR code to use to access an
interactive map.
III. Administrative Items
a. Attendance: City Councilmember Susan Gutowski, Myles Crane, David Kovach, Alicia Durand,
Deanna O’Connell, Nancy Luttropp, Alan Kress, Jeanne Hoag, Mary Roberts, Staff members
Sarah Olear, Lisa Hays.
b. Approval of July Minutes: Motion: Alan Kress; Seconded: Dave Kovach. All approved.
c. Correspondence: Email to Tammi Pusheck, SAB 2023 work plan due Nov. 30 instead of
September 30.
d. Six Month Calendar Update: August 23rd Neighborhood Livability Social Health
October 25th Active modes plan
IV. New Business:
a. SAB members are asked to complete the doodle survey to determine when boardmembers will
meet to review the SAB work plan. Sarah will be sending the doodle survey.
b. Discussion of Draft Memo to Council on Board Recruitment and Retention per July 13th SAB
meeting. Motion to submit to City Council: David, second: Alan, all in favor (8), opposed (0).
c. Jeanne participated in a CSU research project and was interviewed in regard to missing middle
housing
V. Member Bio: Nancy Luttropp
a. Nancy described her very active career in advocating for older adults.
VI. Today’s Guest Speaker:
a. Sarah Olear: Sr. Supervisor Recreation, presented City of Fort Collins City Services.
Distribution of information regarding programs and services
Recreator, e newsletters, FCTV, radio, Coloradoan, utility inserts, community
events
Smaller outreach – Presentations at assisted living centers, women’s lunch, etc.
How the city supports the community
Utilities – provides support for lower income assistance
Transfort – fares have been suspended since the beginning of the pandemic;
travel training offered to learn how to use the bus.
Volunteering to keep community members involved. Many opportunities offered
via engage.
Environmental services – Healthy home assessments

Recreation - 50+ programming, Front Range Forum
VII. Ongoing Initiatives
a. Affordable Housing Board - Mary no report
b. PAFC Housing Priority Group – Alan/Nancy no report
c. Health and Wellness – Deanna no report
d. Transportation – Alicia no report
e. Senior Center Updates – Sarah - registration has been very busy. The public is becoming more
willing to get out and participate in activities again.

September is fall prevention month with balance event at Senior Center on 9/8/22
