Senior Advisory Board Minutes
Wednesday October 5th 10:30 a.m.
Joint meeting with Loveland Senior Advisory Board
Loveland Municipal Building
Mission: The Senior Advisory Board shall serve in an advisory capacity to the Fort Collins City Council
on programs and policies that help aging citizens live full and interesting lives and continue to
contribute, participate, and share in the life of the community.
I. Call to Order: Introduction of guests from the City of Fort Collins Senior Advisory Board

III. Administrative Items
a. Attendance: City Councilmember Susan Gutowski, Myles Crane, David Kovach, Alicia Durand
Deanna O’Connell, Nancy Luttropp, Alan Kress, Jeanne Hoag,
Staff members Sarah Olear, Lisa Hays. Excused: Mary Roberts
IV. Guest Speaker:
a. Nancy Gedeon AICP, Demographer, State of Colorado Demography office
Presentation on Demographic trends for the State of Colorado as well as Larimer County
Focus on aging populations and how they compare to previous decades, what the trends
say regarding future expectations.
V. City Council Report
a. Mayor Jackie Marsh
2023 budget has gone through the first reading
Trust commission - made many recommendations regarding how to improve trust issues
between public, police, etc. Recognized private citizen Rei Mendoza for stepping in on
behalf of public.
Homeless encampments are being addressed. There has been a significant decrease in tent
encampments and plans for more permanent structures for those experiencing homelessness
are in process.
Funding for new air terminal – working with Loveland and Fort Collins to come to an
agreement.
