2019 Work Plan & Meeting Schedule
2019 Meeting Schedule
Regular meetings of the General Employees’ Retirement Committee (GERC) are scheduled for
the second Thursday of every month and are held at 215 North Mason in conference room 2A
beginning at 1:15pm.
The 2019 GERC meeting schedule is:
January 10 April 11 July 11 October 10
February 14 May 9 August 8 November 14
March 14 June 13 September 12 December 12
2019 GERC Work Plan
Prepare 2018 GERC Annual Report for City Council prior to January 31, 2019.
Elect Officers and Review GERC standing rules in January 2019.
Fiduciary training for new Committee members.
Schedule and conduct Legal Training for the GERC from Jenny Lopez-Filkins
Consider modifying practices, policies, plan document, etc. as advised in fiduciary
training.
Continue Monitoring of Retirement Plan and the appropriate level of contributions.
Revise actuarial assumptions prior to March 1, if necessary, for the 2019 Report.
Review ‘Personal Retirement Planning Statement’ forms in April 2019.
Review Quarterly and Monthly Investment Reports.
Review legislative issues with actuarial consultant and support staff.
Prepare Work Plan for 2020 by September 30, 2019.
The web site for the General Employees’ Retirement Committee will be monitored,
updated as needed, and the minutes will be posted once they have been approved and
signed.
