HomeMy WebLinkAbout2019 - Energy Board - Annual Report ENERGY BOARD 2019 Annual Report January 9, 2020 2019 ANNUAL REPORT Page 1 Energy Board Members The following Fort Collins residents served on the board in 2018: Stacey Baumgarn William Becker Alan Braslau John Fassler Jeremy Giovando (elected Vice-Chair in December 2019) Dan Gould Krishna Karnamadakala Nick Michell (Chair) Amanda Shores (Vice-Chair, elected Chair in December 2019) Activity The Energy Board held: 11 Regular Meetings 2 Work Sessions 4 Super-Board meetings by various Board Members, including 1 co-organized with the Landmark Preservation Commission 1 Community Listening Session, hosted by Platte River Power Authority Formal Actions The Board took the following actions in 2019 at the meetings noted: 1. Recommended City Council approve a partial waiver of the requirements of Resolution 2006-096 for the Police Regional Training Center, with the goal that the waived portion of the project follow LEED principles and achieve high energy performance. (Jan) 2. Recommended to City Council the approval and execution of the PRPA Amended Organic Contract. (Mar) 3. Supported the Spring Code Update presented by City staff. (Apr) 4. Sent a memo to Council recommending that City Council adopt minimum energy efficiency standards for Metropolitan Districts. (Jun) 5. Supported the proposed 2020 Electric Capacity Fee, as proposed by staff. (Jul) 6. Sent a memo to City Council recommending the adoption of minimum energy standards for Metro Districts modeled after specific elements from the Partners in Climate Action (PiCA) proposal. (Jul) 7. Supported the 2020 electric rate increase and changes, as proposed by staff. (Sep) 8. Supported reallocation of funds as proposed by L&P staff.
