Safe Community Provide a safe place to live, work, learn and play o Meet with Police Chief about staff training approach when interacting with people with disabilities including people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. 5.1 Improve community involvement, education and regional partnerships to increase the level of public trust and keep the community safe 5.2 Meet the expected level of core and specialized police services as the community grows 5.3 Partner with Poudre Fire Authority to provide high-quality fire prevention, community risk reduction and emergency response services 5.4 Improve emergency management and preparedness 2. Transportation Provide for safe & reliable multimodal travel to, from, and throughout the city o Advocate for 100% of bus stops to be accessible. o Advocate for pre pandemic route availability o Work toward additional ADA accessible parking in the downtown area. o Advocate for improved regional interconnectivity. 6.1 Improve safety for all modes of travel 6.3 Improve transit availability and grow ridership 6.7 Address parking needs Downtown, along the MAX corridor and in residential neighborhoods 3. High Performing Government Deliver an efficient, innovative, transparent, effective and collaborative city government o Support The City of Ft Collins in hiring people with disabilties through education and training and partnership with PSD in creating a school to work pipeline. Introduce ACE, Project Search and SWAP. O Provide People First Language to City Council. Provide input on City Equity Hiring Guide 7.3 Broaden methods of community engagement with additional consideration to diverse backgrounds, languages and needs 7.4 Attract, retain, engage, develop and reward a diverse and competitive workforce to meet the needs of the community now and in the future 7.5 Foster a culture of safety and well-being across the City organization 4. Economic Health Promote a healthy, sustainable economy reflecting community values o Continue to highlight/recognize employers who hire people with disabilities through annual Community Recognition Awards. 3.2 Maintain and grow diverse employment opportunities 3.3 Enhance business engagement to address existing and emerging business needs Neighborhood Livability and Social Health Provide a high quality built environment, support quality, diverse neighborhoods and foster the social health of the community Not addressing in 2022 1.1 Improve access to quality housing that is affordable to a broad range of income levels 1.4 Co-create a more inclusive and equitable community that promotes unity and honors diversity 1.6 Protect and preserve the quality of life in neighborhoods Culture & Recreation Provide diverse cultural and recreational amenities Not addressing in 2022 2.2 Improve low and moderate income citizen access to, and participation in, City programs and facilities. .
