CALL TO ORDER This meeting was called to order at 5:36pm. 2. ROLL CALL a. Members in Attendance: Dylan Lindsey and Dimitry Volchansky b. Members Absent: Eva Calva, Kristin Mera-Cano, Sean Alcazar-Chavez c. Staff Present: Sarah Gagne (Rec Staff Liaison), Jelitza Garcia Martinez (Rec Intern; Secretary) 3. COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION - None 4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES (April 2021) a. Dylan made a motion to approve the minutes, they were seconded and approved as presented. 5. NEW BUSINESS a. Overview of Boards & Commissions Updates (Sarah) • Total number of allowed members is now 9. Terms are annual but can be renewed up to 4 years. Renewal does require re-application however, current members will be extended for 2022 to finish out the school year; renewals after that will require reapplication. • New members may join mid-summer. 6. DISCUSSION ITEMS a. Proposal at last meeting for members to draft letters of support to councilmembers prior to summer hiatus. Drafts will be read and finalized following Board Member Reports. • Dylan read out loud the letter drafted to give to the board. The letter was signed by YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD REGULAR MEETING Chair Dylan and Vice Chair Dimitry. b. Summer Networking/Engagement Opportunities • If you have an interest in networking with new members there will be opportunities over the summer. Sarah will send out information. o Connexion Services (222 Laporte) and CSU’s Engineering Powerhouse were identified as potential sites for networking opportunities. 7. BOARD MEMBER REPORTS (COMMITTEES, EVENT ATTENDANCE ETC.) a. Eva: Update on potential sale of Hickory Mobile Home Park. b. Eva: Update on April 20 council meeting RE: Municipal Immigration Legal Fund. c. Dylan: Update on April 27 council meeting and Councilmember appointments. d. Update on April 26 Super Issues Meeting and the passing of the Reimagine Boards and Commissions ordinance. 8. OTHER BUSINESS a. Dimitri hosted Michelle Finchum from Environmental Services at Fort Collins High School’s Environmental Club to present on the City’s Climate Futures Plan. b. Dylan gave an update on Youth Advisory Boards at Poudre School District • Could the City’s YAB be structured similar to PSDs? Sarah will add this topic to future meeting agendas and research a presenter from PSD to attend. 9.
