ROLL CALL • Board Members Present – Miriam Chase, Gwen Hatchette, Carol Ann Hixon, Kirsten Savage, and Sara Wade • Board Members Absent – Sabrina Davies and Michael Short • Staff Members Present – Ellen Martin, Liz Good, and Beth Diven, Kate Knospe, Ashley Kruger, and Michelle Provaznik • Cultural Resources Board Liaison – None present • Guests – None present 3. AGENDA REVIEW 4. CITIZEN PARTICIPATION 5. APROVAL OF MINUTES – MARCH 17, 2021 Ms Hixon moved they be approved. Ms. Hatchette seconded. Unanimously approved. 6. BUSINESS, PRESENTATION, OR DISCUSSION: A) GARDENS ON SPRING CREEK TEMPORARY ART REVIEW Beth Diven from Purchasing; and Kate Knospe, Ashley Kruger and Michelle Provaznik from The Gardens on Spring Creek were present to help with the selection. Ms. Martin gave an overview of the project and the process. All materials were provided to the committee before the meeting. Intent of the project is a 6–9-month temporary art attraction at the Gardens. Selection Committee scoring selected the top 4 artists to be interviewed for the project. There was a tie between fourth and fifth place artists and the group voted to break the tie to select the fourth artist to interview. Ms. Savage shared the focus on temporary art as an economic driver at the Americans for the Arts conference and that she is excited that it is happening in Fort Collins and at the Gardens. Ms. Provaznik asked to add a staff member to the interview team to have a horticulturalist’s perspective. Ms. Hatchette moved to move forward with the 4 artists that we chose for the Gardens on Spring Creek Art Art in Public Places SPECIAL MEETING 4 /7 /20 2 1 – MINUTES Page 2 Ms. Wade seconded Unanimously approved B) WILLOW ST. CABINET MURAL Ms. Martin shared details about the project. There is a cabinet that is near the new In Praise of the Poudre art piece at Willow and Linden that the project team would like painted with a mural. The mural will feature a garden theme. The team would select a pre-approved artist who has painted a mural with the program. Ms. Hixon moved the proposal as Ellen stated it Ms. Chase seconded Unanimously approved 7. OTHER BUSINESS • Ms. Martin shared that April is National Volunteer Month . The City recognizes the importance of volunteers like the APP Board members. The City is offering special opportunities for volunteers all month. The Board will be emailed details. • Ms. Martin shared details about the upcoming Super Issue Meeting on Monday , April 26. There will be a presentation about the Reimagining Boards and Commissions project. We will share information specifically related to the APP Board at an upcoming meeting. • Ms. Martin asked about the review of the Pedestrian Pavers and how the Board would like to review them, digitally or in person. They are 376 submissions. There are two options, digitally scanned in groups or in person as in the past. The group decided that digital would be easiest. They will be sent this week and Transformer Cabinet materials will be sent next week for review before the April 21 Board Meeting. 8. ADJOURNMENT 4:08 pm Respectfully submitted, Liz Good
