ROLL CALL • Board Members Present – Miriam Chase, Sabrina Davies, Carol Ann Hixon, Kirsten Savage, and Michael Short • Board Members Absent – Gwen Hatchette and Sara Wade • Staff Members Present – Ellen Martin, Liz Good, and Beth Diven • Cultural Resources Board Liaison – None present • Guests – None present 3. AGENDA REVIEW 4. CITIZEN PARTICIPATION Melanie Chaffey a CSU student attended the meeting as part of a class assignment to attend a public meeting and report on it. Bonnie Ward, Administrative Manager for the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) and Mary Timby Communication Manager with The Bohemian Foundation were in attendance for the Pianos About Town Submission Review. Melanie asked questions regarding the call for Pianos About Town. Ms. Savage gave general information and said Ms. Martin could share additional information after meeting. Ms. Chase pointed out the website as a resource about the program. 5. APROVAL OF MINUTES – FEBRURARY 10, 2021 Ms Hixon moved they be accepted Ms. Chase seconded Unanimously approved 6. BUSINESS, PRESENTATION, OR DISCUSSION: A) PIANOS ABOUT TOWN SUBMISSION REVIEW Ms. Martin shared information about the process and that the materials were sent to the Board before the meeting for scoring. Beth Diven from the City of Fort Collins Purchasing Department, Bonnie Ward from the DDA, and Mary Timby from the Bohemian Foundation were in attendance to help with the review. Riley Phipps from the Bohemian Foundation took part in the section but was unable to make the meeting. Mary Timby shared new promotions that worked well, including focusing on Art in Public Places REGULAR MEETING 2 /1 7 /20 2 1 – MINUTES Page 2 organizations, cultural groups, and coffee shops, and the Zoom workshop that received 124 views after the event. Ms. Davies shared that we should add these successful measures into promotions in the future. Melanie Chaffey asked some additional question about the selection process. Ms. Martin thanked our community members for the participation in the process. Mr. Short moved to approve the twelve artists and two alternates for 2021 Ms. Hixon seconded Unanimously approved B) ELECTION OF OFFICERS Ms. Martin outlined the process. The Board discussed and was supportive of Kirsten Savage continuing as Chair and Sabrina Davies as Vice Chair. Ms. Chase moved continue with Kirsten as chair and Sabrina as vice chair Mr. Short seconded Unanimously approved 7. OTHER BUSINESS Ms. Martin asked the Board about the March 17 meeting date which is during the Poudre School District’s Spring Break. Ms. Hixon shared that there will be Symphony concert the weekend of March 1 2. Ms. Martin also discussed adding a requirement to the Transformer Cabinet Mural call that restricts artist applying if they already have an APP cabinet mural in progress. Ms. Hixon moved we add to the transformer cabinet call that an artist must complete previous transformer cabinet work Ms. Davies Seconded Unanimously approved 8.
