1. CALL TO ORDER: 5:30 PM
2. ROLL CALL
Board Members Present – Will Flowers (Chair), Zackery Klassen, Aquiles Quiroga, Jesse
Solomon, Jennifer Zidon
Board Members Absent – Tedi Cox, Vicki Fogel Mykles (Vice Chair)
Staff Members Present - Jim McDonald, Liz Irvine

5. APPROV AL OF MINUTES
Consideration and approval of the Minutes from September 24, 2020. Zackery Klassen
made a motion to accept the Minutes. Aquiles Quiroga seconded the motion. The motion
passed unanimously. Approved by roll call, Ayes: Will Flowers, Zackery Klassen, Aquiles
Quiroga, Jesse Solomon, Jennifer Zidon.

7. NEW BUSINESS
Katy Schneider, Director of Marketing, Visit Fort Collins shared:
o Working with Colorado Creative Industries to help with their Mural Trail
Project. Numerous murals from Fort Collins have been submitted.
o Working with Colorado Creative District on the promotion of the Nichos Art
Exchange Project. The exhibit for Day of the Dead, is located at Library Park.
o Fort Collins Marketplace is set to launch on 11/27/20. It is an e-commerce site
for businesses and artists to sell their services.
Fort Fund Guidelines – Update
o Jim McDonald read the proposed changes for 2021 to the Board. The proposed
changes are related to Covid-19 impact and moving the Fort Fund Project Support ll
application deadline from January to February 2021. The Fort Fund revised
guidelines need to be submitted to the City Manager for final approval. Jennifer
Zidon made a motion to approve the revised Fort Fund Guidelines. Aquiles Quiroga
seconded the approval. Approved by roll call, Ayes: Will Flowers, Zackery Klassen,
Aquiles Quiroga, Jesse Solomon, Jennifer Zidon.
o There will be a question added to the Fort Fund grant pre-application asking if the

applicants have read the updated Fort Fund guidelines. There will be an additional
question related to Covid-19 restrictions in the regular application.
o There was a discussion on reviewing the applications related to COVID-19 and how to
score or approve the applications. Staff will bring back a recommendation to the Board.
8. DIRECTOR’S REPORT
Jim McDonald updated the Board on current events at each of the Department’s cultural
facilities.
o Fort Collins Museum of Discovery-Is currently exhibiting “Mental Health: Mind
Matters.” This is open until January 10, 2021.
o The Gardens on Spring Creek will have their “Pumpkin Parade” event which is sold
out. They have also held a series of “date night” events, plus the Fort Collins
Symphony and Trace Bundy concerts.
o The Lincoln Center is currently exhibiting “The Right to Herself” in the gallery. The
exhibit was curated by the Center for Fine Art Photography. Debut Theatre is
performing “Vintage Hitchcock: A Radio Play” the weekend of October 23rd and 24th.
This will have limited in person attendance and be streamed. The Fort Collins
Symphony had three live performances in early October plus it was filmed for
streaming. In December there will be several cultural groups renting the Lincoln
Center for limited in person performances and also being recorded for streaming.
o Will Flowers requested that each manager of a cultural facility attend a board
meeting to give an update.
9. BOARD MEMBER REPORTS:
Aquiles Quiroga attended the Trees, Water, People mural dedication. The artwork was
created by Armando Silva. He noted that his band was hired by Canyon Concert Ballet for
their 4th Annual Ballet & Beer: Latin Nights program at The Lyric.
Zackery Klassen attended the Canyon Concert Ballet 4th Annual Ballet & Beer: Latin
Nights performance at The Lyric. He also attended High Performance Dance Theatre’s
Fall Showcase performance.
Jennifer Zidon attended both the ACT Human Rights Festival and the Fort Collins Book
Fest virtually.
Jesse Solomon attended both the Poudre RiverFest and Sustainable Living’s Sustainable
Solutions virtually.
Vicki Fogel Mykles previously had submitted a report on The Museum of Art Fort Collins.

Jesse Solomon made a motion to adjourn at 6:47 PM. Zackery Klassen seconded the
motion. The motion passed unanimously. Approved by roll call, Ayes: Will Flowers, Aquiles
Quiroga, Zackery Klassen, Jesse Solomon, Jennifer Zidon.
