HomeMy WebLinkAboutSenior Advisory Board - Minutes - 04/10/2019City of Fort Collins Senior Advisory Board Minutes Wednesday April 10, 2019 11:30 a.m. Fort Collins Senior Center 1200 Raintree Drive Fort Collins, Colorado 80526 Mission: The Senior Advisory Board shall serve in an advisory capacity y to the Fort Collins City Council on programs and policies that help aging citizens live full and interesting lives and continue to contribute, participate, and share in the life of the community. Board Members Present: Myles Crane, Sarah Schilz, Jan Rossi, Nancy Luttropp, David Kovach, Greg Wells Staff Present: Katie Stieber, Lisa Hays Speaker(s) and Guests: Amber Franzel, Diane Cohn, Heather Young FC Utilities Absent: Jason Brabson, Suzanne King I. Update on SAB Activities of the last month-N/A IV. Amber Franzel – Larimer County Office on Aging – Roll of the Ombudsman Diane Cohn – VOA Caring Companions & Affordable Housing Board Update V. Ongoing projects a. Intergenerational Discussions Project – Myles presented a statement of collaborative intent regarding intergenerational discussions this fall. Sarah motioned to approve, Nancy 2nd, all approved. VI. Updates a. Senior Transportation Coalition - Jason Brabson Jason and Jan still working on drafting information for a formal complaint process. b. City of Fort Collins Affordable Housing-N/A c. City of Fort Collins Transportation-N/A d. PAFC steering committee-N/A e. PAFC – N/A f. PAFC culture of aging committee-n/a g. PAFC health and wellness committee- Working on a 20-30 sec. video on Fall Prevention VII. New Business – Brief Discussion of Any Issues of Concern a. Education: AARP Report Discussion Power point is now out. b. Outreach: Senior Organizations – Acronyms list distributed to members. c. Council Liaison follow-up –  SAB does not have sufficient prior information.  A better City management communications process needs to be in place, so concerns are adequately heard and not disregarded.  Appropriate timely action is required to ensure the integrity of the Senior Center's accreditation.
