Subject: Public Hearing Notice - Appeal #: ZBA190032
Mr Beals:
I am wanting to comment on behalf of both myself and my husband. We live at 828 Laporte
Ave, and have received a hearing notice. Appeal # ZBA190032 at the property 214 Wood
Street, owned by Donald Griffith Jr.
The carport that is in question is a very nice structure and does not infringe on any other
property. It is very nicely tucked in the back of Don's property that actually is hidden well with
trees and is next to two back alleys. This carport allows Don to park two of his vehicles on his
own property and not on the already congested street. We have no problem with the
structure and strongly recommend it be permitted to remain in place.
Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any further questions.
Thank you for your time

Subject: Fw: ZBA 225 Whedbee St
Noah,
We received your notice and the submitted plans for the proposed modification and this creates a
significant issue for our home located at 412 E Olive Street. We have a very narrow backyard, see
the attached pictures. Our house is only 10 feet from the property line, so anything built larger than
the city code of 600' will have a negative consequence. We would not be opposed to a two car single
story garage of 600' or an attached addition to their house, but their options 2 and 3 will have a
significant negative impact on our home and our privacy.
Unfortunately, my husband and I will not be able to make the zoning board of appeals on August 8th,
2019 at 8 am, this is a very important decision that will have a huge negative impact on us.
Please pass our concerns on to the ZBA both verbally and by forwarding this email.
Sincerely,
Ayla Leistikow

Noah
My wife sent an e-mail last week regarding ZBA 225 Whedbee St. After closely examining our home
and privacy. We will have to invest money and time to keep the privacy we have in our home. Due to
how close our home is to the fence, we cannot build privacy into our backyard. The proposed
changes to 225 Whedbee Option #2 and #3 will change how we live and be a financial strain if we
have to fix our home. We are both frantically trying to get our work shifts covered to be at the
hearing, Thursday at 8am, because this decision will heavily effect us. Please share this email with
the board.
Thanks

Hi Stu,
Thank you for emailing the pictures of on your daughter's property. I have forwarded your email to Noah
Beals, (zoning department head) and since our board is a quasi judicial board, if you would like to add any

Hi John
Hey...I haven't seen you at the club in a long time. It was good to see both you and Jim the other
day.
My daughter, Ayla, and her husband, Ben, live in a house with a narrow lot on Olive Street near
Library Park. The neighbor to the North (225 Whedbee Street) is proposing to build a new garage
and 2nd floor residence which, as you can see in the photographs, is immediately outside their
patio door. With good reason, they are concerned that the proposed two story structure will have a
significant and negative impact on their privacy and the value of their house. After looking at the
proposed structure, I certainly agree.
Please take a look at Ayla's pictures, and if you have time, drive by on the alley.
In my opinion: Equal to or better than.... NO Nominal and Inconsequential... Definitely not
John, thank you for your consideration.
Stu
