1. CALL TO ORDER
a. Hannah called the meeting to order at 6:03 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL
● Commission Members Present - Lexie Kuznick, Melanie Potyondy, Erma Woodfin,
Kori Wilford.
● City of Fort Collins Staff: Shannon Hein
● Absent: Shana Ryken
3. AGENDA REVIEW - No changes
4. CITIZEN PARTICIPATION - No citizen participation.
5. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
○ Lexie motions to approve. Melanie seconds. Minutes approved with the addition of
including Lexie as “present.”
6. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
a. Marcile N. Wood Award
i. Kelly Glick was selected and Hannah has been in touch with her.
ii. Human Relations Commission presenting awards 4:30-6:00 on Tuesday,
December 3 at City Hall with Council.
iii. Hannah will clarify with Colleen with the City of FC about the time allotted for
us to present the award. Then, Kori will follow up with Councilmember Gorgol
to determine if she would like to present the award.
b. Periodic Review in December
i. Council has been invited (regular WC meeting in December) and we’ll
discuss how the Commission can best work with Council and the questions
and concerns that we have. Hannah made a list of some ideas discussed to
bring to the table.
7. NEW BUSINESS

● Planning Retreat 2020 - planned for January 11, 9:00-1:00
● Brochure and Website
○ Shannon will find out the background on the brochure that is on the Women’s
Commission website. It will be on the agenda for the January retreat to
update the brochure and possibly move it out of brochure format to simply
being on the website or a PDF that would be easier to print or download.
● Annual thank you notes for panel participants
○ WC signed 7 thank you notes for the panel members who presented at a
meeting in 2019.
8. BOARD MEMBER REPORTS
● CEDAW status and next steps
○ Lexie talked with Emily Gorgol briefly at the Boards and Commissions Dinner
and so it’s still on the radar. The memo is ready to go, and the CEDAW
committee will draft a resolution to be ready once the memo has been
submitted.
● Senior Advisory Board - Intergenerational Conversations
○ Erma attended the 10/26 event and 128 people participated. Erma thought
that it was a very worthwhile event and had nice discussions. Topic was
being a teenager now vs. being a teenager in the past.
○ Learned about:
■ Senior Helpers - doing Thanksgiving dinners
■ Green Homes- innovative nursing home
● Kori updated WC on the vaping/nicotine/tobacco retail licensing and T21 occurring
throughout the state and nation to restrict youth access to these products.
9. OTHER BUSINESS
a. Six-month calendar was reviewed to consider upcoming issues.
b. Council attendance
■ Commission members committed to attending council meetings through
January.
c. Member extension and positions

■ There has been some lack of clarity in taking over of terms, extending terms,
and reapplying. This creates some mis-alignment in level of commitment and
turnover. WC will ask for clarification and make some recommendations to
Council.
