Senior Advisory Board
MINUTES
Wednesday, December 13, 2017 11:30 a.m.
Fort Collins Senior Center

Mission: The Senior Advisory Board shall serve in an advisory capacity y to the Fort Collins City Council on
programs and policies that help aging citizens live full and interesting lives and continue to contribute,
participate, and share in the life of the community.
NOTE: Light lunch will be provided.
Board Members Present: Diane Smith, Alan Beatty, Dhara Rose, Wendy True, Sarah Schilz, Greg Wells,
Myles Crane, Nancy Lutropp, Suzanne King, Jason Brabson

a. Infographic - presentation to City Council well received, where do handouts go now,
understanding is Christine has posted them in appropriate location
b. Legislators are in session, Sarah Schilz will looking into carpooling and transportation to visit
Representative Ginal while in session January – May; no update yet
c. Hughes being torn down; educate City / CSU to include senior/affordable housing if that
property becomes housing – community open house happening soon, no progress on letter to
Tony Frank yet
VII. Updates
a. Senior Transportation Coalition - Diane Smith – Jason Brabson – survey done regarding rural
transportation needs, contacting other agencies in other states to tap into what programs they are
using successfully, talk of a centralized transportation call center; driver trainings on pertinent
topics; survey out to Dial a Ride riders
b. City of Fort Collins Affordable Housing, 1st Thursday, 4 pm - Dhara Rose attended, Land Bank,
has inventory of affordable housing; gave statistics, recap of presentation; affordable project is
underway via a landbank purchase at this time; Homeshare program
c. City of Fort Collins Transportation, 3rd Wednesday, 6 pm, 215 N. Mason community room -
Jason Brabson
d. PAFC steering committee: Myles Crane – looking at mental health resources in northern
Colorado; senior access points data base up and running
e. PAFC – Housing, Nancy Luttropp-
f. PAFC culture of aging committee-
g. PAFC health and wellness committee-Myles –

d. City received the Malcolm Baldridge Award, very prominent award and difficult to achieve. Letter
will be sent from SAB board to city management staff congratulating them
e. Building energy scoring brochure handed out.
f. Discussion on future speakers: utilities; Kirk Longstein - Environmental Planner/Utilities
Annette Meredith - City Energy Project Advisor/Environmental Services
