Minutes

Mission: The Senior Advisory Board shall serve in an advisory capacity y to the Fort Collins City
Council on programs and policies that help aging citizens live full and interesting lives and continue to
contribute, participate, and share in the life of the community.
NOTE: Light lunch will be provided.
Board Members Present: Sarah Schilz, Myles Crane, Suzanne King, Gregory Wells, Dhara Rose, Janet
Sanders, Nancy Luttrop, Ken Summers
Staff Present: Katie Stieber, Lisa Hays

d. Update on SAB Activities of the last month: Board Meeting – discussion of BFO and
KFCG.

Reviewed information from Utilities regarding assistance for utilities.
Discussed Rate Changes and how they might affect seniors.

a. Senior Transportation Coalition - Jason Brabson (not present)
b. City of Fort Collins Affordable Housing, 1st Thursday, 4 pm; Greg Wells No Report
c. City of Fort Collins Transportation, 3rd Wednesday, 6 pm, 215 N. Mason community
room – need liaison--
d. PAFC steering committee: Myles Crane-Candidate Forum at the Drake center 9/25
4:00pm Representatives will be there for a meet and greet.
e. PAFC – Housing Nancy – Survey’s given to senior groups on what is working and what
is not have been completed. Loveland is doing very well with senior housing issues.
Saturday 10/20 Service Saturday – Neighbors helping neighbors’ event.
Ken – affordable housing – it’s best to get information to him before City Council’s
Spring retreat.
f. PAFC culture of aging committee-
g. PAFC health and wellness committee-Myles – Report for Mental Health Survey (see
email); 9/29 Capturing a Generation event; Aspen Club QPR for suicide prevention.
Myles will send dates and times.
h. Other – Friends of the senior center raising money to help replace the sound system. 10/6
pancake breakfast encourage all to attend.
