Minutes

Mission: The Senior Advisory Board shall serve in an advisory capacity y to the Fort Collins City
Council on programs and policies that help aging citizens live full and interesting lives and continue to
contribute, participate, and share in the life of the community.
NOTE: Light lunch will be provided.
Board Members Present: Sarah Schilz, Myles Crane, Suzanne King, Gregory Wells, Wendy True, Dhara
Rose.
Staff Present: Jason Chadock, Katie Stieber, Ashley Ruffer

b. Approval of Minutes Myles approved, Gregory second.
c. Correspondence : N/A
d. Update on SAB Activities of the last month: Senior Law Day a success. Very well
received.
e. Public Participation: – Myles attended Fireside Chat at the Senior Center and was
impressed.

V. Ongoing projects
a. Suggestion by Janet Sanders put a 6 month review/summary of meetings to council; put
affordable housing information together to share; present both needs and solutions
b. ….
VI. Updates
a. Senior Transportation Coalition - Jason Brabson (not present), PAFC won the grant for
the AARP challenge, to be used for training for transportation.
b. City of Fort Collins Affordable Housing, 1st Thursday, 4 pm; Greg Wells (could not
attend)
c. City of Fort Collins Transportation, 3rd Wednesday, 6 pm, 215 N. Mason community
room – need liason--
d. PAFC steering committee: Myles Crane-Candidates Forum on Sept. 25th
e. PAFC – Housing, Sarah Schilz- Diane Cone, affordable housing presentation, will be
talking with Sam Betters about the differences between Loveland and FC.
f. PAFC culture of aging committee- 4 or 5 self-directed volunteer teams.
g. PAFC health and wellness committee-Myles – Completed the SDVT on mental house in
Larimer County. Put together a summer report and once approved, will bring in.
h. Other – Myles-FRCC may be looking into a grant for Seniors. Senior Center Council is
holding an event in Sept on Capturing a Generation.
