Mission: The Senior Advisory Board shall serve in an advisory capacity y to the Fort Collins City
Council on programs and policies that help aging citizens live full and interesting lives and continue to
contribute, participate, and share in the life of the community.

Brabson, John Blaine, Nancy Luttropp, Diane Smith

V. Ongoing projects
i. Infographic: presented to Christine Macrina. Wanda Winkelmann, City Clerk to present
to City leadership
ii. Letter to City Council regarding parking garage, Greg
1. Suggestion to contact City Council Representative, Ken Summers for exact
details of project to date
2. Diane presented a draft letter, discussion was held. What are out action steps?
Next steps. Everyone was in agreement that any issue that could affect our senior
community should be presented in advance. Group is hopeful that our current
liaison will attend the meetings more frequently. 1. Invite Councilman Ken
Summers to attend SAB meetings 2. Involve board in senior issues or issues that
affect seniors 3. Send SAB representative out to correlating meetings /
organizations IE: MAX 4. Any issue impacting senior center usage, alterations to
structure should be presented early in the process to the SAB. Myles to edit letter
taking comments into account.
V. Updates
a. Senior Transportation Coalition - Diane Smith – LCOA meeting 8/10 to cover needs of
rural Larimer County; discussion of call center to coordinate overall transportation
b. City of Fort Collins Affordable Housing, 1st Thursday, 4 pm, City Hall; Greg Wells
c. City of Fort Collins Transportation, 3rd Wednesday, 6 pm, 215 N. Mason community
room - Jason Brabson to attend
d. PAFC steering committee: Myles Crane – meet 8/10 looking into structure of self-
directed volunteer teams
e. PAFC – Housing, Nancy Luttropp- was unable to attend last month, attending this week
f. PAFC culture of aging committee-none
g. PAFC health and wellness committee-Myles: 8/11 meet, discuss statement of
expectations to develop self-directed volunteer teams
h. LCOA – need current SAB member as liaison-
i. Bridging the Gap 9/27/17; 3:00-5:30 pm; the Fort Collins Senior Advisory Board is the
official host agency this year, so please plan to attend and assist. Save the date email just
went out.
