Parking Advisory Board
2017 PARKING ADVISORY BOARD WORK PLAN
The Parking Advisory Board makes recommendations to the City Council regarding the
implementation of the City's parking policies and plans; provides an avenue for ongoing
stakeholder input and involvement in parking decisions that affect the public; supports and
advocates for parking initiatives and programs; helps educate the public about parking issues;
works with other boards and commissions of the City or other community organizations that
have an interest in parking issues; and performs such other duties and functions and have such
other powers as provided by the City Council.
The 2016 City of Fort Collins Strategic Plan includes two strategic outcome areas with two
strategic objectives that fall within the policy framework of the Parking Advisory Board.
Under the Key Strategic Outcome of Community and Neighborhood Livability with the intent of
providing a high quality built environment and support quality, diverse neighborhoods, objective
1.10 states that the community will address neighborhood parking issues.
Found in the City’s Key Strategic Outcome of Economic Health which intends to promote a
healthy, sustainable economy reflecting community values, objective 3.10 states that Fort Collins
City government will address Downtown parking issues identified in the adopted Parking Plan,
including funding, convenient access and integrated transit and alternative mode solutions.
The 2017 work plan of the Parking Advisory Board proposes these areas of focus:
I. A detailed recommendation to City Council regarding the City Master Plan,
Transportation Plan and Transit Plan with emphasis on parking elements.
II. Evaluate the Residential Parking Program and report findings to City Council.
a. Review before and after occupancy data
b. Feedback from RP3 Neighborhoods
III. Provide feedback to City Staff about Parking Service Management Strategies
regarding modifications made to parking enforcement.
IV. Provide feedback to City Staff concerning Game Day and CSU Stadium Parking
Program.
