Mr. McDonald inquired about the average cost for a solar system. Mr. Weaver explained that a
typical solar system is approximately $20k for 5kW. Homeowners can reduce the cost through
the 30% federal tax credit and the City of Fort Collins rebate.
Mr. O’Neill inquired about whether solar equipment specifications need to be changed in
anticipation of higher solar deployment on the Ft. Collins distribution system, e.g. smart
inverters with reactive power control and distributed storage under control of the distribution
system Mr. Weaver replied that Utilities is starting to think about that but such measure are not
needed yet.

Travis Paige, Community Engagement Manager

responses.
Overall satisfaction is at 88% for residential, 86% commercial and 100% for key
accounts.
Discussion
Mr. Friedman inquired about time of day and whom they asked to speak with for the survey? Mr.
Paige responded that the calls were made later in the day and they asked to speak with account
holders who had the best knowledge of utility usage.
Mr. Baumgarn, asked if comparative cost of service and satisfaction data is available between
