Senior Advisory Board
MINUTES
Wednesday, April 11, 2018 11:30 a.m.
Foothills Activity Center
241 E. Foothills Pkwy
Fort Collins, Colorado 80526
Mission: The Senior Advisory Board shall serve in an advisory capacity y to the Fort Collins City
Council on programs and policies that help aging citizens live full and interesting lives and continue to
contribute, participate, and share in the life of the community.
NOTE: Light lunch will be provided.
Board Members Present: Suzanne King, Myles Crane, Janet Sanders, Jason Babson, Sarah Schilz, Sue
Dalton, Dhara Rose
Staff Present: Ashley Ruffer, Lisa Hays

i. Senior Day at the Capitol was a success. 3 people attended, the Governor and
Mayor were there. LCOA was also in attendance. Fort Collins and Larimer
county called out a couple of times talking about the good job we are doing

V. Speakers
11:45 am Pete Iingo Fort Collins Utilities 30 minutes
a. Presentation on Utilities and how to make more people aware of the affordability
options that are available. Pete will be sending Katie more information.
b. Jason made a motion and Myles seconded - to send a letter of support to Utilities and
encourage them to provide links on their emailed bills for the various agencies.
VI. Ongoing projects
a. Speaker suggestions and discussion
i. Sarah has contacted additional speakers and will send to Katie for scheduling.
VII. Updates
a. Senior Transportation Coalition - Jason Brabson
b. City of Fort Collins Affordable Housing, 1st Thursday, 4 pm; Greg Wells absent
c. City of Fort Collins Transportation, 3rd Wednesday, 6 pm, 215 N. Mason community
room - Jason Brabson --
d. PAFC steering committee: Myles Crane – Candidates Forum for the November election
all on senior issues.
e. PAFC – Housing
f. PAFC culture of aging committee-
g. PAFC health and wellness committee-Myles – SDVT has had 2 meetings and are
addressing the biggest area of need and gaps in providing services.
h. Other – Janet reported that King Soopers is discontinuing their call in for groceries
service. Discussion on other areas that might be able to help.

c. Advocacy – Jason reported that the People centered transportation coalition is looking for
anyone interested in assisting with medical driving. The need is greater than the services
they can provide.
