Senior Advisory Board
MINUTES
Wednesday, October 11, 2017 11:30 a.m.
Fort Collins Senior Center

Mission: The Senior Advisory Board shall serve in an advisory capacity y to the Fort Collins City
Council on programs and policies that help aging citizens live full and interesting lives and continue to
contribute, participate, and share in the life of the community.
NOTE: Joint luncheon with Senior Center Member Council
Board Members Present: Alan Beatty, Nancy Luttropp, Sarah Schilz, Jason Brabson, Diane Smith,
Myles Crane, Suzanne King, Wendy True, John Blaine

Myles Crane recommended a recent speaker he heard
VI. Ongoing projects
i. Infographic final product presented. Plans to distribute. SAB members asked for
electronic version to be sent out via Christine Macrina
VII. Updates
a. Senior Transportation Coalition - Diane Smith – Jason Brabson: travel training,
coordinate regional transportation, table at senior center 1st
week of December to educate
public
b. City of Fort Collins Affordable Housing, 1st Thursday, 4 pm - Myles attended
affordable housing meeting in Denver,
c. City of Fort Collins Transportation, 3rd Wednesday, 6 pm, 215 N. Mason community
room - Jason Brabson to attend --
d. PAFC steering committee: Myles Crane – sent recent email with strategic plan
e. PAFC – Housing, Nancy Luttropp- didn’t meet this month
f. PAFC culture of aging committee- John Blaine reported that Mike Kohler business
coordinator wants to have workshops where he brings businesses together to talk about
challenges of hiring older adults.
g. PAFC health and wellness committee-Myles – will be discussing senior access points,
CSU, and OOA project;
h. LCOA – Myles and Katie attended, -

d. Legislators are in session, Sarah Schilz will looking into carpooling and transportation to
visit Representative Ginal while in session January – May
e. Hughes being torn down; educate City / CSU to include senior/affordable housing if that
property becomes housing
