Minutes

Mission: The Senior Advisory Board shall serve in an advisory capacity y to the Fort Collins City
Council on programs and policies that help aging citizens live full and interesting lives and continue to
contribute, participate, and share in the life of the community.
NOTE: Joint lunch with Fort Collins Senior Center Council; followed by a shortened meeting
Board Members Present: Myles Crane, Sarah Schilz, Janet Sanders, Wendy True, Jason Brabson

i. Letter of support for Energy Scoring ordinance to City Council prior to
consideration on November 20
a. Overall consensus was that the issue is important, but out of the purview
of the SAB, many members expressed their support, but an overall
response by the SAB will not occur
d. Update on SAB Activities of the last month
i. 34 attended Capturing a Generation, panel of 8 seniors
ii. Bridging the Gap, went well, speed networking was a good way to get to know
others

b. Suggested to invite someone from finance in to speak in November, Lawrence Pollock,
or Mike Beckstead

a. Senior Transportation Coalition - Jason Brabson - will report out in November; Myles
reported on Bustang training
b. City of Fort Collins Affordable Housing, 1st Thursday, 4 pm; Greg Wells – not in
attendance
c. City of Fort Collins Transportation, 3rd Wednesday, 6 pm, 215 N. Mason community
room – need liaison--
d. PAFC steering committee: LCOA is putting on focus groups on importance to you
regarding aging, will feed into their 4-year plan,
e. PAFC – Housing Nancy – Oct. 20 “A Little Help” kick off; recent survey regarding
design concepts for seniors in new builds
f. PAFC culture of aging committee-
g. PAFC health and wellness committee-Myles –

d. Fort Collins Senior Center Friends hosted a pancake breakfast with assistance of Lion’s Club, huge success,
netted about $2000, many donations from restaurants for prizes,
