OUTREACH
In 2017 the Senior Advisory Board has been working hard to understand and communicate the needs of seniors
in our community. At the beginning of the year we made it a goal to help organizations that serve seniors work
together better by being the source that binds these organizations together. At the request of then City
Councilmember Campana, the SAB created two infographics which were approved by City Management,
presented in person and via video feed to the City Council, acknowledged by City Council, and have been
distributed throughout the community. The first infographic provides housing professionals a better idea of
senior housing needs and how quickly that need is growing. The second infographic helps seniors to know what
to look for in housing that best suits their needs.
The Board had been involved in the following:
• City of Fort Collins Affordable Housing Board
• City of Fort Collins Transportation Board
• Larimer County Office on Aging Advisory Council
• Partnership for Age Friendly Communities
• Senior Transportation Coalition
