Women’s Commission Meeting Minutes
March 25, 2015 (rescheduled from March 18, 2015)
6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
215 N. Mason Avenue; Room 1-B

The City of Fort Collins Women’s Commission promotes decisions and actions that address the
needs and positively impact women in our community. We do this by listening to the voice of
women, advising city council, promoting community events, and educating ourselves and others
about safety, health and poverty as they relate to the City of Fort Collins seven Key Strategic
Outcomes.
Attendees: Molly Alderton, Catherine Douras, Lea Hanson, Huston Morse, Annette Zacharias,
Ginny Carroll

Absent: Liz Donovan, Stacia Ryder, Heather Zoccali
I. Call to Order Call to Order Vice-Chair Douras called the meeting to order at 6:34pm
II. Approval of regular meeting minutes, February 18 and 28, 2015
Zacharias moved to approve the February 18 and 28, 2015 minutes. It was seconded by
Hanson. The motion passed with no discussion.
III. New Business
A. Supermeeting Update
1. The Affordable Housing Board is updating strategic plan
2. Expanding the definition of affordable housing and the criteria for eligibility
3. Need for transportation
4. The meeting was well-attended
5. Tiny houses
B. Boards and Commissions Breakfast
1. May 19 – Community Room, 215 N. Mason Avenue, 7:30-8:30

D. Review/Discussion of Human Services Partners publication
IV. Old Business
A. Women’s Foundation Report on Childcare Cost and Affordability – members will review
for April meeting
B. SAVA Partnerships for Sexual Assault Awareness Month
1. SAVA and the Women’s Commission presented a proclamation at City Council on
March 17
2. Members will attend various events throughout the month
C. Next steps with SANE information
D. Nominations for community awards – Zacharias brought information about the Women
of Distinction award, nominations due May 11
