Staff Liaison: Aimee Jensen A regular meeting of the Liquor Licensing Authority was held August 20, 2014 in Municipal Court, 215 North Mason. Judge Kathleen M. Lane presiding. Staff in attendance: Jody Hurst, Assistant City Attorney Aimee Jensen, Deputy City Clerk Approval of Minutes Judge Lane approved the minutes from August 7, 2014 Transfer of Ownership of Justine's Pizza, from Jensen Restaurant Co., Inc., to Summertime Enterprises, Inc.,140 Boardwalk Drive, Unit J, Approved Thomas Summers, representative for Summertime Enterprises, Inc., stated beer sales are approximately 3% of gross sales. He stated he has not had any experience with the sale and service of alcohol until he purchased this business. Mr. Summers stated he will get certified TIP's training and that he will require his managers that serve alcohol to be TIP's trained. He stated the previous owners and his employees did an excellent job of running the business by making sure underage and/or visibly intoxicated patrons were not served. Mr. Summers stated if an employee is found in violation of the liquor code may be terminated, depending on the circumstances of the violation. Judge Lane approved the transfer of ownership of Justine's Pizza, from Jensen Restaurant Co., Inc., to Summertime Enterprises, Inc., 140 Boardwalk Drive, Unit J. Hearing on a New Application from D & L Tanski, LLC, for a retail liquor store license with a Tastings Permit at Crescendo, 123 North College Avenue, Suite 170, Approved Lesli Tanski and Dustin Tanski, representatives for D & L Tanski, LLC were sworn. Mr. Tanski stated they will be allowing tastings during the times they have submitted with their Tastings Permit application. In response to a question from the Authority, Mr. Tanski described his background, stated he, his wife and several of their employees will be TIP's trained prior to opening their store. He stated the franchisee also has extensive training regarding the sale and service of alcohol. Mr. Tanski stated they will employe enough staff to make sure they can conduct the tastings properly as well as working with other customers. He stated every patron will be required to produce a valid ID when purchasing alcohol. August 20, 2014 Kelly Pietrs, representative for Esquire Petitioning Professionals, LLC, was sworn. Ms. Pietrs stated this is one of the highest returns on a retail liquor store license application in a college town. Judge Lane adopted Resolution 2014-21 approving a retail liquor store license and tastings permit applications from D & L Tanski, LLC, dba Crescendo at 123 North College Avenue, Suite 170.
