HomeMy WebLinkAboutLiquor Licensing Authority - Minutes - 04/16/2014LIQUOR LICENSING AUTHORITY MINUTES Regular Meeting, April 16, 2014 1:00 p.m. Staff Liaison: Aimee Jensen A regular meeting of the Liquor Licensing Authority was held April 16, 2014 in Municipal Court, 215 North Mason. Judge Kathleen M. Lane presiding. Staff in attendance: Bronwyn Scurlock, Assistant City Attorney Aimee Jensen, Deputy City Clerk Mark Chmovici, Liquor Enforcement Officer Request from The Public House Corporation, dba William Oliver's Public House to Change, Alter, or Modify the Licensed Premises at 2608 South Timberline Road, #108, Approved Ryan Wallace, representative for The Public House Corporation, briefly described the proposed changes. He confirmed that the egress door in the gate of the proposed patio is an emergency exit. Mr. Wallace stated he discussed the back patio addition with the neighboring business and received only positive comments. Judge Lane approved the request from The Public House Corporation, dba William Oliver's Public House to change, alter, or modify the licensed premises at 2608 South Timberline Road, #108. Transfer of Ownership of Lemay Liquors, 737 South Lemay Avenue, #132 from Father and Son Liquors, LLC to KSW, LLC, Approved Steve Wiggins, representative for KSW, LLC, stated he has updated the POS system. He stated if an intentionally violates the liquor code, they will be immediately terminated. Mr. Wiggins stated he is retaining many of the employees from the previous owner, that they are older and exercise good judgement. He stated his staff have experience with identifying intoxicated patrons. Judge Lane approved the transfer of ownership of Lemay Liquors, 737 South Lemay Avenue, #B2 from Father and Son Liquors, LLC to KSW, LLC. April 16, 2014 Transfer of Ownership of Tavema Greek Restaurant, 4235 South College Avenue Poseidon Dining, LLC to GreekZ, LLC, and Trade Name Change to Akropolis Greek Restaurant, Approved Konstantinos Zahakis, representative for GreekZ, LLC, stated he will be continuing with the Greek restaurant theme. He stated he will not be changing the time they are open and that he is only making a few cosmetic changes to the restaurant. Ms. Zahakis stated he owned the Pizza Casbah from 1998 to 2008 and that during that time employees failed two compliance checks. He stated that he will retain most of the staff as they are well trained and are current on their TIP's training. Mr. Zahakis stated he will have a general and assistant manager. He stated he has approximately 25 employees, with 12 servers involved in the sale and service of alcohol. Mr. Zahakis stated anyone found in violation of the liquor code will be immediately terminated. He stated he has a current copy of the liquor code on premise.
