OUTREACH
In September the Board co-sponsored the annual Bridging the Gap event with the Larimer County
Office on Aging and the Loveland Senior Advisory Board. This year’s program was ALIVE INSIDE, a
stirring and uplifting documentary that portrays music’s capacity to reawaken our souls and uncover the
deepest parts of our humanity. Most comments from the attendees were very positive in all categories.
The Board had been involved in the following:
Partnership for Age Friendly Communities
Following a very successful Summit on Aging in May, the PAFC decided to apply for
membership in AARP’s Network of Age-Friendly Communities SAB members served on the
steering committee and the two of the four task groups/teams as follows: Mobility, Health and
Wellness. .
Senior Transportation Coalition
The group continued working on Travel Training for Seniors. Fort Collins, Loveland, and
Berthoud have all offered travel training this year and expect to do more in the future. The STC
decided that they will consider studying transportation for rural seniors as their next project.
Liaisons with Other Senior Groups
SAB members continued communication with an identified network of groups and
organizations that have some impact on aging.
