YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD

LOCATION: Northside Aztlan Community Center, 112 Willow St, Fort Collins, CO 80524
TIME: 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.

Vivian Bear, Betsy Pruznick, Nicholas Lin, Naitra Ramchander, Katie Ko, Calvin Flammini
Community members:
Megan Ronquillo
Absent:
Bekki Nord, Nela Mohan, Justin Moritz
Staff Present: Marc Rademacher and Aaron Harris (Staff Liaison), Aaron Iverson. Emma
Belmont, and Christine Macrina (Boards and Commissions Coordinator)
• Motion to call the meeting to order made by Betsy Pruznick at 5:30 p.m. seconded by
Vivian Bear
• Approval of Minutes: Betsy Pruznick motioned to approve the minuets, Calvin Flammini
seconded
• Chairman’s report: Calvin steps down from the chair due to health issues. Betsy becomes
new chair. Vote for vice chair is moved to next meeting.
• Public Comments-
Transportation Presentation: Aaron Iverson and Emma Belmont
- How transportation creates plans for improvement or other stuff to get them
approved
- Transportation master plans – map that shows all streets and roads, etc
- Discussed problem surrounding development in new areas of FoCo and how
transportation is going to develop
- Open Streets = Program where a street is closed to cars for one day and only
opened to pedestrians and bikes
• Co Everyone Matters Day: Event on April 12
th
with Mayor making proclamation
(perhaps?)
- Social Media Campaign
- Time Lapse of Support tree build by handprints
- Nicholas and Naitra expressed interest in leading the project
• Pinwheel Project for Syria with the Loveland YAC
- Date Confirmed: March 20
th
at Loveland Public Library
- Educational aspect covered by videos so we can learn about the crisis in Syria
• Community Chalkboard
- Discussed pros and cons over making the chalkboard seasonal
- Discussed pros and cons over making chalkboard a movable structure
- Allowed chalkboard to be accessible for different people
- Solid chalkboard not expensive, allows people to voice their opinions 24/7
• Adjournment: Betsy Pruznick motioned to adjourn at 6:50 p.m., Vivian Bear seconded
the motion. Motion unanimously passed.
