Present: Jeni Arndt, Jeff Coon, Mike Devereaux, Hettie Hueber, Tommy Klender,
Rose Luna, Michelle Miller, and Terry Schlicting
City: Ethan Cozzens, Rosanne McDonnell
Guests: Janet Devereaux and Brian Payne
Called to Order: 12:20 pm
1) Introductions: Members and guests introduced themselves.
2) Approval of Minutes from August 22, 2013. Hueber moved and Devereaux
seconded. Minutes approved.
3) Open Discussion General Public: No discussion
4) New Business:
a) Wendy Robinson resigned from the COD.
b) There are now four openings on the COD.
c) There will be no November meeting due to the Thanksgiving holiday. We will
still have an October meeting in addition to the Mayor’s awards.
d) Bob Overbeck would like to highlight the COD on his new radio show. He and
Jeff Coon will be in touch.
5) Old Business:
a) Code for new single‐family houses with sprinklers. Philosophically we are in
favor of sprinklers, but we are concerned with affordability of housing in Fort
Collins.
b) Affordable Housing update. Coon is attending a meeting with the MS Society
regarding accessible housing. The new project would be 100% accessible.
Riverside and Lemay location is the possible location. If the housing
authority is in agreement, that would be 15 available spaces.
c) Mayor’s Awards. Reviewed nominations. And voted on winners.
d) Hearing Loop update. The Lincoln Center does not want to do a
demonstration. Looping Police Services and the Discovery Center.
6. Community News and Updates:
a) Disability Pride Fest Summary. DRS thought they might just breakeven.
Maybe the outreach could have been more thorough. Discussed pricing.
How can we help make this more successful?
