Regular Meeting - November 28, 2011

A regular meeting of the Liquor Licensing Authority was held on November 28, 2011 in Municipal
Court, 215 North Mason. Judge Kathleen M. Lane presiding.
Staff in attendance: Bronwyn Scurlock, Assistant City Attorney
Aimee Jensen, Deputy City Clerk
Kyle Bendzsa, Liquor Enforcement Officer
Agenda Review
Deputy City Clerk Jensen stated that there were no changes to the agenda.
Approval of Minutes
Judge Lane approved the minutes from November 7, 2011.
Hearing on a Change in Location Application from
Elbert Distributing Company, Inc., dba
Uncle's Pizzeria, to move a hotel -restaurant liquor license, from
Garrett Marlin, representative for Elbert Distributing Company, Inc., and Max Scott, representative for
Oedipus, Inc., were swom. Mr. Marlin stated they are expanding from a semi -self serve pizzeria to a
full service restaurant: He stated theyhave hired a chef to help with this change. Mr. Marlin stated they
are hoping to be open by Christmas. He stated they will not be open past 11:00 p.m on the weekend.
In response to questions from the Authority, Mr. Marlin detailed the premises. Mr. Marlin stated that
eventually they will be brewing their own beer. He stated eventually they will be applying for a
modification of premise once the alleyway is renovated. Mr. Marlin stated they will require all
employees to be trained prior to opening. He stated their policy will be that if a patron does not have
an i.d., they will not be served an alcohol beverage.
Max Scott briefly described the petitioning process. He stated they provided their employees with a
detailed briefing sheet. Mr. Scott stated theyreceived good results in response to this application. Judge
Lane marked the petitions as Exhibit 1.
November 28, 2011
Judge Lane adopted Resolution 2011-26 approving a change in location application from Elbert
Distributing Company, Inc., dba Uncle's Pizzeria, to move a hotel -restaurant liquor license, from 1717
South College Avenue to 120 West Olive Street.
