1. Introduction
2. Approval of Minutes
May 2011 - Motion to approve: Karen Perry; Second: Mike Devereaux
3. Open Discussion General Public
Guest Derrick Hughes recently moved to Fort Collins from Denver and
expressed some concern about the availability of affordable housing.
After some discussion, it was recommended that Mr. Hughes’ contact
information be forwarded to Jeff Coon and that he be referred to the
Affordable Housing Commission.
4. New Business
Planning for the Mayor’s Awards is underway. The event is slated for
October 20th at the Senior Center. The Mayor’s office has been contacted
regarding the date and the Senior Center has been secured. A sub-
committee meeting will be held immediately following July’s regular
meeting to discuss the luncheon; Hettie Hueber will email COD members to
notify them of this meeting
Craig Foreman discussed the issue of E-bikes on the trail system. A
recommendation will be made at the upcoming City Council work session
and Craig would welcome COD input. After discussion, it was moved by
Michelle Patello that the COD would support a 3-year trial allowing E-bikes
on the trail system. Hettie Hueber seconded the motion and it was
approved. Ethan Cozzens will forward our support to Craig via email.
5. Old Business
Re: Hearing Loops – Aislinn Kottwitz has been contacted about the
possibility of looping the Council chambers, but no response has yet been
received.
Sam Cavallaro has notified the board that he will need a Leave of Absence
for personal/business reasons. In addition, Karen Perry mentioned that she
may also require a leave in the near future. We discussed how this might
impact the COD’s ability to function and the process for selecting new
commission members.
Aislinn Kottwitz, our council liaison, has been invited to attend meetings
and is set up to receive copies of commission emails.
6. Community News and Events
It was noted that there is no sidewalk at the Lemay/Swallow bus stop.
Mike Devereaux recommended that the first step would be to report this
via the citizen phone number posted at area bus stops.
7. Adjournment – The meeting was adjourned by Mike Devereaux at 1:45pm.
