Introductions 2. Approval of August Minutes Motion to Approve – Hueber 2nd – Devereaux 3. Open Discussion (General Public Input) George Knight has been with Elderhaus for 3 years. Elderhaus is located at 605 S. Shileds Street in Fort Collins. Many of the participants in Elderhaus walk for exercise and recreation. Mr. Knight has found that the sidewalks near Laurel and Mulberry, North of CSU, are not wide enough. This could be hazardous to individuals with mobility issues. He has also noted that American Baptist Church offers 2-3 programs that Elderhaus clients like to participate in. This involves crossing a very busy street. There is pedestrian signage, but no crosswalk. He provided photographs of good examples of signage, crosswalks and flashing pedestrian lights. His preference is that there actually be a red light that stops cars for pedestrians. Can the COD help with this? Cozzens will make inquiries of the COFC and the COD can make recommendations to City Council. Mr. Knight’s contact information was collected. He will be contacted when more information is available. 4. New Business None 5. Old Business a. Hearing Loops Discussion Coon has contacted City Manager, Darren Atterberry, and suggested that some portable hearing loops be purchased for some city buildings, such as the Lincoln Center and the Senior Center and given a trial period to measure their usefulness. b.
