Regular Meeting - November 5, 2001

A regular meeting of the Liquor Licensing Authoritywas held on November 5, 2001 in Municipal Court,
Justice Center, 201 LaPorte. Judge Kathleen M. Lane Presiding.
Staff in attendance: Teresa Ablao, Assistant City Attorney
Richard Johnson, Liquor Enforcement Officer
Aimee Jensen, Deputy City Clerk
Agenda Review
Deputy City Clerk Jensen stated there are no change to the agenda.
Report of Change of Corporate Structure for Farlee, Inc.,
dba Bourbon Street Bar & Grill,
151 South College, Received and Examined
Jeff Culver, representative for Farlee, Inc., stated he is replacing Bruce Osborne as President. Mr.
Culver stated he will submit a letter clarifying the loan received from a family member.
Judge Lane acknowledged receipt of the report of change of corporate structure for Farlee, Inc., dba
Bourbon Street Bar & Grill, 151 South College Avenue.
Transfer of Ownership of LaCosta 5, 103 West Harvard, from
Azteca Mexican Restaurant of Wyoming, Inc, to
Acapulco Mexican Restaurant, Approved
Luis Ruiz, partner in Acapulco Mexican Restaurant, stated he has not had any liquor violations. He
stated he and his partner, Miguel Ruiz sold their restaurant in Alaska. Mr. Ruiz briefly described training
he has received. He stated this partnership holds a liquor license in Summit County that is in the
process of being transferred. Mr. Ruiz stated he has the liquor code on premise. He stated Cesar
Gonzalez has no interest in the liquor license other than a signor on the lease.
Judge Lane approved the transfer of ownership of LaCosta 5,103 West Harvard, from Azteca Mexican
Restaurant of Wyoming, Inc., to Acapulco Mexican Restaurant.

Hearing on a Change of Location
for a Hotel -Restaurant Liquor License from
An American Bistro, Ltd., dba Jay's,
from 151 South College to 135 West Oak, Approved
Jay Witlen, representative for An American Bistro, Ltd., stated they are in the process of moving from
151 South College Avenue to 135 West Oak Street. Mr. Witlen stated the new premise will be the same
as the `old' Jays. He stated Jay's will remain a restaurant. Mr. Witlen briefly described the premise. He
briefly described the petitioning process. Mr. Witlen noted that there was no opposition to this
application. i
Judge lane adopted Resolution 2001-12 approving
license from An American Bistro, Ltd., dba Jay's,
Street.

Lin Bo for a Beer at

Lin Bo, applicant, and Jay Bai, translator, were swom. Mr. Bai stated he will accurately translate for the
Judge says as well as for Mr. Bo. Mr. Bo stated he has had the liquor code translated into his native
language and has read it. He stated he expects his alcohol sales to only 16% of his gross receipts. Mr.
Bo stated he understands if he violates the liquor code he could lose his beer and wine license. He
stated he will have someone on premise that speaks and understands English in case a problem arises.
Mr. Bo stated the beer and wine cooler will be locked. He stated employees are required to card patrons
that appear to 35 years old and younger.
JarrickMcCune, petitioner, was sworn. He described the petitioning process. Mr. McCune stated the
neighborhood was in favor of this application.
Judge Lane adopted Resolution approving the application from Lin Bo, for a beer and wine license at
China and Japan Restaurant, 902 West Drake, Suite # 1.
