Introductions Not Necessary 2. Approval of July Minutes Motion to Approve – Hueber 2nd – Miller 3. Open Discussion (General Public Input) None 4. New Business a. Update Assignments to Boards and Commissions The following Boards and Commissions have been identified as having common goals and interests of the COD, along with the COD liaison:  Affordable Housing Board – Coon  Building Review Board – Coon  Community Development Block Grant Commission – Miller  Downtown Development Authority – Schlicting  Housing Authority – Devereaux  Human Relations Commission – Schlicting  Land Conservation & Stewardship Board – Hueber  Parks and Recreation Board – Klender  Planning and Zoning Board – Klender  Senior Advisory Board – Miller  Transportation Board – Devereaux  Youth Advisory Board – Hueber Liaisons will follow meeting minutes, make contact when appropriate and keep COD updated. b. Affordable Housing Commission Update – Coon Tabled. c. Work Plans and Annual Reports Members were provided copies of the 2011 COD Work Plan. This item will be added to the October agenda. Members will review it and make any recommendations at that meeting. d. Member Resignation – Patello Due to unforeseen scheduling and time demand conflicts, Michelle Patello must resign her seat on the COD. e. Disability Placard Renewal – Cozzens Cozzens was recently made aware that when an individual with disability plates, or a placard, renews their tags, they must have an updated form completed by their doctor. Is this correct? The DMV website provides all the current policies and laws on parking and plate renewal. 5. Old Business a. Hearing Loops Discussion Coon will draft a letter outlining the COD’s endorsement of a trial period of portable loops and taking into regard the cost of looping for future construction and remodeling of public buildings. He will e-mail this to members for additions, deletions, suggestions. b. Mayor’s Awards Update – Hueber McDonnell provided postcards, calling for nominations, to members for mailing and disbursement to agencies and individuals. Hueber will provide a printable nomination form via e-mail. McDonnell will put it on City Letterhead. Devereaux will hand deliver postcards to all accessible downtown businesses. Hueber has been in discussion with the caterer and an ASL interpreter. She has also given the business that makes the plaques for the awards a “heads up”. c. Bullying Forum Update - Hueber This forum might be an opportunity to host a “Spread the Word to End the Word” table. Hueber will look into locating materials and will follow up with the Human Relations Board if COD members would like to be involved with this forum. 6. Community News and Updates None. 7.
