Staff Liaison: Aimee Jensen A regular meeting of the Liquor Licensing Authority was held on March 9, 2009 in Municipal Court, 215 North Mason. Judge Kathleen M. Lane presiding. Staff in attendance: Jenny LopezFilkins, Assistant City Attorney Aimee Jensen, Deputy City Clerk Robert Younger, Liquor Enforcement Officer Agenda Review DeputyCityClerkJensen stated that Elizabeth Hostetter, manager applicant for Chipotle Mexican Grill, 2120 East Harmony was not present. Approval of Minutes Judge Lane approved the minutes from February 23, 2009, and September 23, 2002. Registration of Kellie Kissing as Manager of Carrabba's Italian Grill, 1212 Oaktidge Drive, Approved Kellie Kissinger, manager applicant, described her background. She stated she is nP's certified and requires all her employees to be re-train every 6 months. Ms. Kissinger stated she supervises approximately 60 employees. She stated there is always a manager on duty. Ms. Kissinger stated any employee found in violation of the liquor code is terminated. She stated all employees are made aware of the seriousness of liquor service. Judge Lane approved the registration of Kellie Kissing as Manager of Carrabba's Italian Grill, 1212 Oakridge Drive. Request from Bannthai Restaurant, LLC, dba Bannthai Restaurant to Change, Alter, Suda Lapakulchai, representative for Bannthai restaurant, LLC, stated she is adding an outdoor patio area contiguous to the restaurant. She stated she will assign a specific employee to monitor alcohol service on the patio. Ms. Lapakulchai stated she can see the patio from inside the restaurant. March 9, 2009 Judge Lane approved the request from Bannthai Restaurant, LLC, dba Bannthai Restaurant to Change, Alter, or Modify the Licensed Premises at 626 South College Avenue. Hearing on a New Application from Bertha's Grateful Deli, Inc., for a beer and wine license at The Grateful Deli, 2567 South Shields Street, Suite 4D, Approved Shana Allrmcher, representative forBertha's Grateful Deli, Inc., was swom. She stated she has attended Liquor Enforcement Officer Younger's training a few years ago. Ms. Allmacher stated she originally owned Gustavo's Market. She stated she is strictlya sandwich shop and will have limited beer and wine service. Ms. Allmacher stated she expects her food sales to be 85% and does not intend to be open late hours. She stated she cards any patron that looks under the age of 35. Patrick Southern, petitioner, was sworn. He described his petitioning process. Mr. Southern stated he received many comments in support of this application. He stated he did not make any changes to the signatures ages. Judge Lane adopted Resolution 2009-02 approving the application from Bertha's Grateful Deli, Inc., for a beer and wine license at The Grateful Deli, 2567 South Shields Street, Suite 4D. Hearing on a new Application from Fitzwig Partners, Inc., for a hotel -restaurant liquor license at Eliot's Mess, 210 South College Avenue, Approved Jake Fitzsimmons, representative for Fitzwig Partners, Inc., was sworn. 'Tiffany Pellin, manager applicant, was swom. Mr. Fitzsimmons stated he is TIP's trained and that they are requesting a hotel - restaurant liquor license to remain competitive. He stated beer and wine sales were approximately 3% of their gross sales. He emphasized that they are primarily a restaurant. Mr. Fitzsimmons stated all alcohol is removed from the tables by 1:30 a.m He stated they are not changing the licensed premise. Mr. Fitzsimmons stated they have employees constantly circulating through the patio. Ms. Pellin briefly described the petitioning process. He stated he received many positive comments in support of this application. Judge Lane adopted Resolution 2009-03 approving the application from Fitzwig Partners, Inc., for a hotel -restaurant liquor license at Eliot's Mess, 210 South College Avenue. March 9, 2009 Registration of Tiffany Pellin as Manager of Eliot's Mess, 210 South College Avenue, Approved Ms. Pellin brieflydescribed her background, she stated she has worked closelywith Liquor Enforcement Officer Younger with respect to training. She stated all her employees have recently attended Liquor Enforcement Officer Younger's training. Ms. Pellin discussed in detail their general alcohol service policy. She stated any employee found in violation of the liquor code is immediately terminated. Judge Lane approved the registration of TiffanyPellin as Manager of Eliot's Mess, 210 South College Avenue.
