Work Plan For 2010
1. Review proposed land and water conservation transactions, including fee
acquisitions, sales, conservation easements, and right of way easements and make
recommendations to Council as necessary.
2. Review and provide input on the Natural Areas exhibits for the new museum.
3. Review and provide input on the Natural Areas Strategic Plan for 2010.
4. Review various legislative and policy proposals that have a relationship to the
Natural Areas Program and make recommendations to Council as necessary.
5. Periodically review plans for local, regional, and community separator land
conservation and provide input on prioritization of land conservation efforts.
Provide this input to City Council and Planning staff as appropriate.
6. Receive updates and provide input on wildlife management, including prairie dog
management.
7. Review the Natural Areas 2011 and 2012 budget as a part of the BFO Budget
process, and provide input on these budgets and the long term financial and
staffing plans.
8. Review and comment on Natural Area and Poudre River Natural Area
management plans as needed.
9. Periodically organize and hold meetings with the Larimer County Open Lands
Board, the City’s Natural Resources Advisory Board and Parks Advisory Board,
and Loveland’s Open Lands Board to discuss issues of mutual interest.
10. Provide one LCSB member to serve on the Bicycle Advisory Committee, who
reports back to and seeks input from the LCSB.
