1. Introductions (10 minutes)
No need for introductions. Sign in sheet made rounds.
2. Approval of Minutes
November (15 minutes)
September and November minutes were approved.
3. Open Discussion General Public (20 minutes)
Jennifer Petrik is working on two alley improvement projects. The plan involves using
the same kind of bricks that were used in the Trimble Alley project. She would like feedback
from individuals with different mobility issues on the ease of accessibility on this type of surface.
Her comments are due to the Downtown Development Authority by next Friday, December 18
th
.
Jennifer will contact Russell Mills and DDA to see if she can get the deadline extended. If
anyone can visit the Trimble Alley site and get comments/suggestions to Jennifer, it would be
most appreciated. Her phone number is (970) 416-2471. It was suggested that she contact Kevin
Dugan of the Coloradoan to see if he would write a press release asking for this involvement
from the community. All feedback is welcome.
Jennifer revisited the North College “facelift”. The COD had preferred the 8’ wide
multi-use path, as opposed to the standard 6’. Jennifer wanted to know if breaking this pathway
into 4’ sections with control joints would make mobility an issue. The consensus was that it
would probably be safer (during freezing weather) and would not pose any problems to mobility
of all types.
4. New Business (1 hour)
1. Mayor Hutchinson ( EPIC and Council work session)
Mayor Hutchinson will be attending the January COD meeting. The commission will
ask his guidance for next steps in the on-going discussion of the loss of the Transfort
stop at EPIC.
5. Old Business
1. Finish work plan
Work plan was completed, but needs to be typed.
2. Farewell to leaving members
Bruce Byrne and Beverly Hageseth will be missed. Thank you for all your hard work
and commitment.
6. Community News and Updates
Cheryl and Mike continue to address mobility and accessibility in Old Town. They
would like to get the City, DDA, Downtown Business Authority (DBA) and the
Historical Design Commission involved to look into the possibility of using portable
ramps for inaccessible areas.
7. Adjourn
Meeting adjourned at 2:05.
