Regular Meeting - May 5, 2008

A regular meeting of the Liquor Licensing Authority was held on May 5, 2008 in Municipal Court,
Justice Center, 201 LaPorte. Judge Kathleen M. Lane presiding.

Agenda Review
Deputy City Clerk Jensen stated that there were no changes to the agenda.
Approval of Minutes
Judge Lane approved the minutes from April 21, 2008.
Transfer of Ownership of Sri Thai Restaurant,
950 South Taft Hill Road from Sri Thai, Inc.,
to Andaman. Inc., Approved
Diphanee Mays, representative for Andaman, Inc., stated they will not be changing the restaurant
premise. She stated she has been responsible for administrative tasks regarding the liquor license.
Ms. Mays stated she has attended Liquor Enforcement Officer Younger's class and has shared this
information with her 27 employees. She stated her employees card any patron that to be 60 and
under is carded. In response to a question from the Authority, Ms. Mays stated she will not tolerate
any employee violating the liquor code.
Judge Lane approved the transfer of ownership of Sri Thai Restaurant, 950 South Taft Hill Road
from Sri Thai, Inc., to Andaman, Inc.

Hearing on a New Application from Harmony Suites
for a Hotel -Restaurant Liquor License at Cambria Suites,
2921 East Harmony, Approved
Slawomir Pretraszek, representative for Harmony Suites, LLC, was swom. He stated he has not held
a liquor license in the past. Mr. Pretraszek stated he is scheduled to attend TIP's training prior to
the hotel opening. He stated alcohol service will be from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Mr. Pretraszek
stated the patio is fully enclosed. He stated the manager will be responsible for training employees
in the sale and service of alcohol. Mr. Pretraszek stated he will hold the manager accountable for
following all liquor laws.
Tina Scott, representative for Oedipus Inc., was swom. She briefly described the petitioning process.
Ms. Scott stated overall the petitions indicate support of this application.
Judge Lane adopted Resolution 2008 - 06 approving an application from Harmony Suites, LLC, for
a hotel -restaurant liquor license at Cambria Suites, 2921 East Harmony Road.
Registration of Scott Duarte as
Manager of Cambria Suites, 2921 East Harmony Approved
Scott Duarte, manager applicant, briefly described his background. He stated he has arranged for
training for himself and his employees. Mr. Duarte stated he has been involved with the sale and
service of alcohol for ten years.
Judge Lane approved the registration of Scott Duarte as manager of Cambria Suites, 2921 East
Harmony.
Hearing on a New Application from
Red Table Caf6, LLC for a beer and wine license at
Red Table Caf6, 224 Linden Street, Approved
Jessica D'Angelo, representative for Red Table Caf6, LLC, was sworn. Jessica D'Angelo,
representative for Red Table Caf6, LLC, stated the lease requires them to close by 10:00 p.m., and
will likely close by 8:00 p.m. She stated their patrons have been requesting beer and wine service.
Ms. D'Angelo stated she and all her employees will attend Liquor Enforcement Officer Younger's
class on May 22, 2008. She stated all patrons ordering alcohol will be carded. Ms. D'Angelo stated
that any employee found in violation of the liquor code will be terminated, including family
members. She stated she has a current copy of the liquor code on premise.
Ms. D'Angelo briefly described the petitioning process. She stated she received comments in
support of this application.

Dave Hegde, 222 Linden Street, was sworn. He stated he lives directly above the Red Table Cafe
and supports the approval of this application.
Astrid Starship, landlord for 224 Linden Street, was sworn. She stated she is support of reasonable
consumption of alcohol and the approval of this application.
Judge Lane adopted Resolution 2008-07 approving an application from Red Table Cafe, LLC, for
a beer and wine license at Red Table Cafe, 224 Linden Street.
Request from Lu, Inc., dba Lulu Asian Bistro
to Change, Alter, or Modify the Licensed Premises
at 117 South College Avenue, Approved
Mei Ying Zhang, representative for Lu, hic., stated they are requesting to add the patio. In response
to questions from the Authority, Mr. Zhang stated his customers have request theybe served alcohol
on the patio. He stated he has an encroachment permit from the City's Engineering Department.
Mr. Zhang briefly described the proposed modification of premise.
Judge Lane approved the request from Lu, inc., dba Lulu Asian Bistro to change, alter, or modify the
licensed premises at 117 South College Avenue.
