Jennifer Carpenter, Bud Frick, James Tanner, Rae Ann Todd and Ruth Weatherford were present. Prescott Handley and Rheba Massey were absent. Carol Tunner represented staff. Teresa Morford, co-owner, 256 Linden Street and Thomas Clark Livingston, owner 218 Linden Street, were guests. SUMMARY: A plan to repaint 256 Linden Street was approved, and a proposal to restore the facade at 218 Linden Street was approved. Commission member Prescott Handley resigned. CURRENT ITEMS Request to Repaint 256 Linden Street Ms. Morford presented a proposal to repaint 256 Linden Street. She reported that the elastomeric coating paint has a 4-year warranty on labor and a 10-year warranty on product. A primer that penetrates the old paint and bonds to brick will be used. Peak To Peak construction will power wash the structure. A sample power wash did not remove very much old paint, therefore, it will be necessary to remove the old paint by hand. The final color will be an off-white. Mr. Frick asked if Ms. Morford had contacted a structural engineer. Ms. Morford responded that first she will contact a brick mason for an opinion on the bulge on the north side of the building and then will contact a structural engineer, if necessary. She reminded Mr. Frick that she is not planning to make any structural changes. Ms. Tunner asked Ms. Morford when Devoe Paint plans to examine the building to determine if it is a suitable candidate for the elastomeric coating. Ms. Morford said that Devoe has done this already with a positive result, and will examine the roof for leaks when Peak To Peak has the scaffolding in place. She noted that Devoe will not back the warranty unless the surface is in satisfactory condition. There was no one in the audience who wished to speak on this item. Ms. Weatherford moved to approve the application as presented. Ms. Todd seconded the motion. The motion to approve passed 5-0. Ayes: Bud Frick, Prescott Handley, James Tanner, Rae Ann Todd and Ruth Weatherford. Facade Restoration of 218 Linden Str Mr. Livingston presented a plan to restore the facade, including repairs, reconstruction of the cornice cap and repainting of the building at 218 Linden Street. The plan had been redrawn after conceptual review to show a larger cornice on the building. The submitted color elevation shows the palette of body color (Renwick beige, Sherwin Williams, SW2805), trim color (Threshold taupe, SW 2023), primary accent (Downing Slate, SW2819), secondary accent (Rockwood Sash green, SW2810) and tertiary accent (Copper rust, Muralo 9B-4D). All three accent colors will be used in very small amounts. Ms. Tunner said there is a proposed projecting sign that can be approved administratively later. Mr. Livingston stated that he intends to mount a brass historical information plaque by the door on the outside of the building. Mr. Livingston brought an old sample cornice bracket from a torn down Wellington building. He proposed to use six of them on the replacement cornice. Mr. Frick commented that the scale of the cornice is compatible with the surrounding buildings. There was no one in the audience who wished to speak on this item. Ms. Handley moved to accept the proposal as redrawn. Ms. Todd seconded the motion. The motion to approve passed 5-0. Ayes: Bud Frick, Prescott Handley, James Tanner, Rae Ann Todd and Ruth Weatherford. Other Business Ms. Handley announced that the October 2 will be the last meeting she will attend as she is moving to Montana. She submitted her resignation to Ms. Tunner. Mr. Frick adjourned the meeting at 6:12 p. m.
