SPECIAL MEETING

The Commission reviewed the sign and awning permit application made by
Kayreen and Ted Will for the Old Firehouse, 232-238 Walnut Street. Ted
Will presented a drawing of the sign and awning, and explained the loca-
tion and color scheme.
MOTION MADE by Wayne Sundberg to approve the sign. SECONDED by Ronald
Carsten. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
The commission recessed to an informal work session to review and discuss
tha modifications of the sign for the Electric Stampede, 242 Linden Street.
Mr. Denton Farnsworth presented a drawing of the sign and explained the
color scheme. He indicated the sign had been reduced in size by approxi-
mately six square feet. He further indicated that the sign had been rea-
ligned so as not to be tilted.
Mr. Ted Will, owner of the Old Firehouse, and Mr. Dick Albrecht from the
Chamber of Commerce, spoke in favor of the sign.
After considerable discussion, the Commission reconvened the meeting to take
formal action on the sign application made by Mr. Denton Farnsworth for the
Electric Stampede, 242 Linden Street.
MOTION MADE by Wayne Sundberg to approve the sign for the Electric Stampede
as modified from the original application based upon 1) Type of use as a
night time business, and 2) previous alterations of the building front which
degraded the historic significance of the building. SECONDED by Janet Zemeckis.
MOTION CARRIED by vote 3-1.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 4:30 P.M.
