HomeMy WebLinkAboutLandmark Preservation Commission - Minutes - 10/07/1981LANDMARK PRESERVATION COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 7, 1981 MEMBERS PRESENT: Dick Beardmore, Chairperson Susan McMillen Janet Zemeckis MEMBERS ABSENT: Ron Carsten Wayne Sundberg STAFF PRESENT: Paul Deibel, Senior Planner Debbie Hover, Acting Staff Support (Building Inspection). ALSO PRESENT: Michael Griffith, representative from Cultural Resources Bd. Eileen Star, applicant for the alternate position for LPC (this position will be filled by Council by the end of the month) Mr. Deibel handed out a rough draft of the Review Process and Submittal Require— ments for LPC for the Commission's review. (copies will be sent out with the final draft for all members to review). Ms. Zemeckis stated she would like to see this as a part of the appendix to the guidelines. Mr. Beardmore and Ms. McMillen agreed. Mr. Beardmore asked that all members review this review and submittal draft and bring back their comments at the next regular meeting at which time the final version of the guidelines will be adopted. He stated that the Old Town Planning Committee will be meet— ing tonight and their comments on the draft will be included in the final discussion at the next LPC meeting. The next regular meeting was scheduled for October 21 (Wednesday) at 4:00 p.m. in the Planning Conference Room. Mr. Beardmore stated this meeting will be devoted to adopting the guidelines. Copies of the final version will be sent to all members prior to the meeting. The minutes from the.9/9/81 meeting were reviewed. MINUTES STAND APPROVED AS PRE— SENTED. The minutes from the 9/23/81 meeting were reviewed. There was some dis— cussion on Mr. Reidhead's comments to the Commission at that meeting. Mr. Beard— more explained to Ms. McMillen that Mr. Reidhead agreed to comply to what was previously approved at that meeting for color scheme #5 from the color chart approved. MINUTES STAND APPROVED AS PRESENTED. Mr. Beardmore briefly mentioned the proposed Old Town Center and stated it rein— forced for him the need to get the design guidelines in order since the Commission will be reviewing just about every aspect of construction. Ms. McMillen asked for some clarification in a situation where a Commission member may be involved in the review of Old Town Center and possible conflict of interest. Mr. Beardmore stated this member would not be a voting member during Commission action on the proposed Old Town Center. The final draft of the design guidelines was then discussed. Ms. McMillen asked if it would be the Commission's decision as to the final form of the guidelines (printed, bound, etc.). Mr. Deibel said he would have to check but felt it would be their decision.
