The Salvation Army was there to have a sign permit approved. Their sign
was already up before they realized they were classified in the Old Town
District. Wayne Sundberg moved to approve the sign through the term of
their lease only. At that time they will review it. Susan McMillan
seconded the motion. MOTION CARRIED.
Bill Wright owner of Wright Life Sporting foods, 200 Linden, was re-
questing approval of painting, facade stabilization, re -opening of ex-
isting side window. Colors proposed: Renwick Beige, Chimney, Crawshey.
They will also be taking the tin off and replacing it with stucco painted
with the Renwick Beige. They will be re -using existing sign. Aluminum
awning will continued to be used because it is structurally sound, so
canvas wouldn't be practical. Motion made by Susan McMillan to approve.
Seconded by Wayne Sundberg. MOTION CARRIED.
Jim Reidhead presented a sign application for Timeless Originals & Wood,
229 Walnut. Sign would be approximately 2' x 8' and the frontage of the
building is 40'. All old colors will be completely abandoned. Proposed
colors: Dark Brown, Creams, Brown -Blues. All letters will be dark and
cut our of wood. The sign would be framed out a 2 by material. This
building is by Horizons, Hair Place, and JB's. The Board showed concern
that there are so many signs in that block that are so totally different.
Jim Reidhead stated that they are putting together their own sign code
for Old Town that will be much stricter than the City's. Wayne Sundberg
made a motion to approve. Susan McMillan seconded. MOTION CARRIED.
Dick Beardmore wants some consistency in the signs noted for the record.
John Dewhurst presented the proposed Kiosk, 100 block of Linden. A tree
well has been left vacant at the corner of Mountain and Linden for this
purpose but they have to check out utilities first. Proposed canvas top,
six sided, this shaped type, steel posts (painted). This is classified
as a sign because it lies in public right-of-way. It will have bulletin
boards, one side for the Daughters of Territorial Daughters, one side for
advertisements, one side for maps of old town and history. Instead of
tempered glass - plexy glass will be use. Susan McMillan moved to accept
the design of the kiosk. Wayne Sundberg seconded. MOTION CARRIED.
