Applicant for a sign permit at 217 Linden St. was Gaye Finlay. She stated
that the size of the sign would be 413. The colors would be be'ge back-
ground with brown lettering. The sign meets all zoning requirements. The
sign was voted on and approved.
Susan McMillen gave a synopsis of the workshop that was attended. She felt
that after seeing the other cities that Fort Collins was by far the most
organized. Alternatives for design guidelines were discussed at the work-
shop.
Dick Beardmore gave a list of books that might help is setting up our de-
sign guidelines. Jim Reidhead had contacted Dick Beardmore and stated that
they would like to have a conceptual review whenever we could put it together,
preferably in the next two weeks. A tentative date was set for Wednesday,
October 20, 1982 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.. They would like the CIC room reserv-
ed.
Dick stated that a letter was being sent to City Council regarding Laurie
Zitowitz reinstatement to the Board. She hadn't been notified because of
wrong phone numbers and addresses on file with Building Inspection. She
is very interested in continuing with the Landmark Preservation Commission.
Laurel Street neighborhood was discussed. John Dewhirst stated that he was
in hopes that it would be designated for historical preservation. They have
had quite a few problems down there with developers and old homes being torn
down (behind Brass Pig) for 4-plexes to go up.
John Dewhirst told the Board that City Council had approved $12,000 in grant
money for trees for Old Town. Hopefully they can get twenty trees for $12,000,
costing roughly $600 per tree. He will keep the Board on top of the situation.
The minutes of the last meeting were approved with corrections to name spelling
noted.
Meeting Adjourned.
Respectfully submitted,
Dick Beardmore, Chairman
