Agenda Item 4 — Follow up discussion of Gailmarie Kimmel Be Local Program
Gailmarie and the EAC collaboratively discussed the Local Living Economy Project and
how it ties in with the EAC/City's Economic Vision for a healthy economy that reflects
the values of our unique community in a changing world.
The Be Local program and coupon book bring together locally owned and independent
businesses (Local Living Economy Project, 501 c3 Non -Profit Organization) that make
up part of the Uniquely Fort Collins Cluster. The Be Local Program drives visibility and
exposure to businesses and helps them identify their marketing plans for local
communication making a positive local economic impact.
No decisions or recommendations to Council were made.
Agenda Item 5 - Clean Energy Cluster presentation by Judy Dorsey
This was an educational presentation to the EAC on the Clean Energy Cluster of
Northern Colorado summarizing its purpose as an economic development initiative
project oriented group of regional partners. Clean Energy team members include: City of
Fort Collins, Larimer County, Spirae, Brendle Group, CSU, New Belgium, Advanced
Energy, Woodward Governor, Caterpillar, and Eaton. Some opportunities for local Fort
Collins businesses here are expanding current products/services around clean energy
while establishing partnerships to showcase capabilities.
