The "in -fill" buildings were identified as buildings "B", "D", "E", and "G". Susan felt there was a lack of imagination used on infill, but that it was not related to guidelines. Guideline #33 states "brick should be predominant material". Susan feels guidelines for existing buildings should apply to in -fill (new) buildings above. Specifically #16 of the guidelines on restoration. Susan feels that the project needs stronger cornice i.e., horizontally. Discussion followed on guideline #29 which states "new buildings should not duplicate architecture of Old Town". Glenda suggested that maybe LPC should look at which guidelines are not being met. Glenda felt it was desirable to maintain individuality and not blend all of the buildings together. She feels they've followed the guidelines well. Carol said that the historical "style" was important but that the project meets the guidelines. Glenda moved to approve design development phase of new construction and proposed that a letter about specific concerns be sent. Motion was seconded by Carol. Wayne Sundberg abstained. MOTION CARRIED. Meeting was adjourned. Respectfully submitted, Dick Beardmore, Chairman Felix Lee, Staff Support DB/FL/dz
